Technician
The Preventive Maintenance and Repair Technician (PM & Repair Tech) will play a crucial role in ensuring that routine PMs and reactive repair work are performed uniformly and timely throughout the plant. He/she will address work orders that are created in Ultimo, document their progress, and remain committed until work is completed. The PM & Repair Tech will model our TOP values, cooperate and collaborate with production and other teams, and respect safety, quality, and efficiency requirements throughout the plant. Work is performed Monday through Friday, onsite. Occasional overtime and weekend work will be required.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform planned preventive maintenance according to prescribed procedures and guidelines
- Perform hands-on intervention in case of malfunction of machines and utilities
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical systems
- Provide ongoing maintenance and support to production machinery, manufacturing equipment, and other equipment
- Change, adjust, and fine-tune packaging machines
- Monitor equipment operability after changing the machine settings or other maintenance activities, in consultation with the baker, doughmaker, or line operator
- Assist with inventory management of spare parts
- Document work notes in system
- Report unsafe situations or near-miss accidents and assist in the development of preventive solutions
- Help maintain the tidiness and cleanliness of maintenane facilities
- Work within the guidelines of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and safety rules and standards
EDUCATION
- Associates degree in mechanical engineering technology, industrial systems technology, electricity/electronics, electrical engineering technology, machining, or pneumatics is preferred
- High school diploma or GED is required
SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE
- Computer literacy required
- Prior experience with computerized maintenance management system (CMMS); knowledge of Ultimo a plus
- Must be able to perform duties following all regulatory GMP food hygiene practices
EXPERIENCE
- Prior work experience in a food processing or food production environment strongly preferred
- Proficient in the maintenance of production equipment
- Basic electrical knowledge and repair experience
- Mechanical aptitude with knowledge of mechanics and basic troubleshooting
- Experience troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining robotics and/or industrial automation, pneumatic conveying systems, and flow wrapping machines strongly desired
- Able to read blueprints
- Forklift/lift truck experience
- Able to perform basic welding, lathe and mill operations
LANGUAGE
- English fluency required (verbal and written)
- Conversational Spanish helpful but not required
