At Lotus Bakeries, we continue to grow internationally! To support our expanding international flows we are looking for a Customs & Trade Compliance Specialist who ensures efficient customs clearance processes and full compliance with international trade regulations. You work closely with internal teams and external partners to secure timely customs clearance and continuously improve customs processes across regions.

• You safeguard full compliance with international customs and trade regulations by applying correct HS classifications, valuation and origin rules, while monitoring regulatory changes and updating processes accordingly.
  
• You support internal and external customs audits and ensure accurate, compliant customs documentation by preparing and validating all declarations and shipping documents & keeping commercial, logistics and customs data fully aligned.
  
• Implement import/export clearance processes for global shipments and assist local operations teams in case of customs, inspections or issues with customs brokers, authorities & freight forwarders.

• Maintain CAS software configuration and ensure correct calculation and payment of duties, taxes and fees.
  
• Act as the central point of contact for customs matters, supporting internal teams and collaborating with logistics, procurement, finance, sales and external partners.
  
• Drive continuous improvement by identifying bottlenecks, supporting digitalisation, optimising duty costs and standardising customs processes across regions, while providing back‑up support to expedition planners.
  
  

To be successful in this role we believe you need to have: 

• Master’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, International Trade, Law, Tax or related fields.
  
• 3–5 years of experience in Customs Operations & Trade Compliance, experience in an international environment is a strong asset.
  
• Strong knowledge of customs regulations & legislation, Incoterms, and customs systems (SAP/CAS application is a plus).
  
• You combine strong analytical skills with high accuracy, enabling you to identify issues quickly and translate them into effective solutions.
• You manage your workload efficiently, set clear priorities and stay structured in a fast‑paced environment.
  
• You have a flexible & service‑oriented mindset and a collaborative & positive approach.
  
• Very good knowledge of Dutch and English.
